About

Summer Scientists Teacher

Summer Scientists was founded by Jill Davis, a Massachusetts-certified science teacher with deep experience teaching students from kindergarten through eighth grade. With a passion for curiosity-driven learning and a belief that summer is the perfect season for discovery, Jill created Summer Scientists to inspire children to see the world through a scientist’s lens—no matter their age or grade level. The inspiration for Summer Scientists began at the Discovery Museums in Acton, MA, where Jill led joyful, hands-on science programs as a Lead Science Educator. There, she witnessed how nature and inquiry could ignite a lifelong love of learning. Later, in classrooms across public and private schools—including grades 7 and 8 in Acton-Boxborough and Andover Public Schools—she developed and delivered rigorous, standards-based lessons that challenged students to think critically and creatively. From coding in elementary computer labs to modeling Earth systems in middle school classrooms, Jill's experience across K–8 empowers her to design learning that’s both developmentally appropriate and academically rich. Summer Scientists brings that expertise together into one engaging summer program, where children attend two live 30-minute online classes per week and use beautifully designed workbooks for daily lessons that blend science, reading, math, and social studies. Each week introduces a new theme—from ecosystems to engineering—that is tailored with modifications for younger (K–2) and older (3–6) learners. The result is a flexible, cross-disciplinary summer experience that’s aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and full of joy.Summer Scientists is for families who want their children to stay curious, stay connected, and keep growing all summer long.
